Pumpkin Cheesecake

I just made some pumpkin cheesecake. I have never made it before. It should be interesting. It got me thinking. Is cheesecake a cake or a pie?


Reasons it is a Cake:

1. It is called Cheesecake

Reasons it is a Pie:

1. It is in a pie shell
2. Pie filling can be used to flavor it
3. It isn't fluffy like a cake

I think Pie wins. Cheesecake therefore is falsely named and misleads those who choose to eat it. It should be called Cheesepie. . . No, Maybe not. That just doesn't sound cool at all. Kind-of-like Hamburgers would sound really wierd being called Beef Burgers. It just doesn't flow. But, that is a different subject entirely.
